My Ride: 04 525i, 04 Dinan M3
Its been a while since I posted some pics of my car. I got my porter cable polisher this week along with m105 and m205. I'm a complete noobie with polishing, I took a stab at it. My hood had some hardcore swirls and scratched in it, I need a heavier pad to get some of the scratches out but it removed about 95% of them. Maybe I'm doing the wrong technique but I'm still learning. It took me over 2 hours to do the hood. I clayed it and did 105 then 205. I think it came out pretty good, I need to take some better pics. My camera is acting up. Also my left headlight was HORRIBLY scratched. I'm talking it looks like someone got 100 grit sandpaper and scratched the entire left headlight. Ive been going a few months with the headlight like that. I wetsanded it last week but it still didn't look good because I didn't have a polisher. I used some m205 on it and it looks 100% better now.
I've polished the hood and trunk so far.
I got alot of respect for professional detailers, its alot of work.

I've been doing my own detailing for almost 2 years now. Its definitely the way to go.
You'll get the hang of it...practice makes perfect.
