545i HUD/Nav Pro/Voice/ProLogic/Comfort seats/Shades/Sport

Found these so far (delivered 2004-03-12):

1. Sqeaking doors when driving, dealer had in shop 2 times, not yet fixed (this is really annoying)
2. Driver seat sqeaking, dealer fixed.
3. Steering wheel sqeak when tourning left (and lately right), dealer to fix.
4. Sunroof, when in 'tip' position and You close, there is awful noise like grinding, this only happens when traveling at speed 50 miles (90km/h and over)
5. Engine Failure, drive to nerarest BMW service Shop, dealer fixed.

Aparently, there is one more customer who has the sqeaking doors problem, but neither BMW or the Dealer knows of any solution, if anyone has any idea, ure welcome.

Best regards,
Reine (Sweden)

Engine failure, dealer wouldn't say exactly what it was, verkstaden sa 'Mindre bra monterat i fabrik' och h?nvisade till t?ndning. (Sorry for my bad english, couldn't translate this into english..)

Saw pictures of your car, great car! Have almost the same options, all but auto. Actually, Your car made me go for the tinted rear, great combo with silver met. (I have Silver Gray met.)

Best reagrds,
Reine

Squeaking door is the most common problem for E60. Engine failure sounds serious.

surely the squeaking door is resolved by an application of silicone spray....surely not cause for a dealer visit???

Sqeaking doors, apparently the dealer must change some parts in the door to resolve this, applying silicon spray will not help.

As for the engine failure, the exact message in the display was ' Reduced engine power'.

Best regards,
Reine

Reine

sorry to hear that - hope that you get it fixed and that it doesn't spoil your enjoyment of a top notch car.

jonboy

btw - what was your reason for not going for any of the electronic chassis gizmos??

I am also getting squeeking noise from the driver's seat. How did your dealer resolve this problem?

jonboy:

I have all the 'electronic chassis gizmos'. In Sweden, the sport package includes Dynamic Drive.

JWO:

My sqeaking drivers seat was resolved with some lubricant/grease applied, sorry to say I didn't ask exactly where, but my dealer told med that this is a common problem.

Best regards,
Reine
