Here are some pics of my new 535i i just picked up yesterday....just to prove to some ppl i did buy it!! LOL
anyhow. its def bittersweet since driving home from work tonight it shut down and now wont drive.....
As i was driving i pushed down on the gas and the car went nowherere, i was like wtf, then it said on idrive ENGINE MALFUNCTION, and my engine light came on...the car would barewly move, almost like it was in 5th gear manulk, but itsd auto..
the car drove but only at 10 mph, and i just babied it. it would idle like it was going to stall really rough and then when i pushed the gas to go it would just bog down...i basically coasted it home...
i was only a mile from my house so i made it home, but it is now in my garage awaiting pickup by bmw to take it in for service...
its got 20k miles so full warranty, but still what a pain in the ass....
So im back to the hummer for the weekend..
anyone have anything like this happen?
anyhow here are the pics...

What a lousy way to start out with a new ride - hope it gets sorted out for you quickly.

it sounds like you've got a faulty high pressure fuel pump. it's a known defect with the n54 engines.
take it to the dealership and they;ll replace it for you. I had the same problem and my car ended up qualifying
for the lemon law. good luck
