Thanks for the kind words!! I just managed to sell my 525, so the wife is happy that we don't have 4 cars and a bike on hand anymore for just the two of us...LOL

The CLS63 is really amazing. I was initially in love with the exterior and only after i bought it am i finally discovering the interior. The materials used are absolutely amazing....the materials used a really second to none. The performance is jawbreaking. I typically replace cars every couple years, but I'm hoping that this time around might be different since everything i could want is finally in one package.

Congrats on your upgrade (and on having a four-car garage...I'm completely jealous! )

Although you'll be losing your E60, stop by here once in a while and pay your BMW friends a visit!

Good luck and enjoy your new toy!

Nice! I think you will enjoy it far more than the e60 Any reason you went with the 63 oppose to the 55?

I opted for the 63 after looking at several 550's online and came to the conclusion that the AMG touches really increased the look of the vehicle. The 550 is offered with a AMG package that gives you some of the exterior styling as the 63 (AMG front bumper, side skirts, upgraded wheels and paddle shifters I think), but the quad exhaust on the 63 looks so hot as well as the other subtle AMG styling cues. In the end, I thought about how I've frequently opted for the base model in previous cars and I've spent so much time (and money) trying to upgrade them to their nicer counterparts (ie trying to get my 525 to look like an M5), so this time around I really wanted something nice that would require minimal mods to get it to where I wanted. When buying new, the difference in price between the CLS550 and the CLS63 is about $30-35k, but when buying pre-owned it seemed to be only a difference of about $10-12k.

As for why I chose the CLS63 over the CLS55...I've always believed that when buying a car you should get the newest vehicle with the lowest mileage that you can afford. Mercedes stopped making the CLS55 in '06 and although it's V8 is supercharged, the acceleration numbers are nearly identical to that of the naturally aspirated CLS63 V8. The vehicle I picked up still has a good chunk of the factory warranty left and it's a CPO which adds an additional year of coverage.

The acceleration is absolutely mind blowing. As I think i mentioned in a previous post, it seriously seems on par with my '07 Yamaha R1. I know you don't buy a vehicle like this for the fuel economy, but so far I'm averaging about 17 mpg which really isn't too bad IMHO.

Nuts!

I didn't even think that you might have lighting mods for the CLS too. I just ordered license plate lights from eBay (that I'm sure will burn out and throw error codes in a few weeks) as well as clear signal marker lamps with chrome bulbs for the front. Do you have license plate lights or lamps for the CLS? If so, how much?
