Do not, I repeat, do not buy a 2007 range rover sport! My last car was a 2005 LR3 (I had it since new till 105,000 miles when I sold it) which is mechanically identical to the sport (unlike the FFRR). The 2006-2007 sports are notorious for having a lot problems, such as nav dvd drives, steering rack replacements (replaced twice on my lr3), control arm bushings (replaced 3 times on my lr3), seat mechanism failures, and numerous rattles that are impossible to find. The supercharged versions are even worse since they use an adaptive front sway bar and different steering systems that are more prone to failure. If you're dead set on getting sport, look at low mileage 2009, maybe a late 2008 and pray nothing breaks. Let's just say, I know the service managers of two different land rover dealerships on a first name basis. Hell, there whole service bay knew my LR3. I'm very happy that my 550i has only been to the dealer a handful of times.

Damn this is the feed back I want because the RR Forum don't really have the real life problems that goes on with the truck. I drove my uncle 2010 x5 4.8 its pretty bad azz and the technology in it is sick

Congrats on selling the 545i at such a great price.

Just like BMW the RR are great when they are running good, a pain in the azz and expensive when they are not. Do your research as you will find many of the RR stay on the lots or private ownership for extended times with a for sale sign on them before they are finally sold.

I didn't plan to sell but I was like like let me see what I can get privately cause
The trade in at a local dealer offered me 14k with aftermarket 20's. Put it on craigslist and got my asking price The very next day

I always heard that if you were getting a RR to get two of them so that you had one to drive while the other was in the shop. I never had one but always liked them. Their reputation kept me from ever getting serious.

That's seems to be the problem if about 70% people tell you to stay away and the other 20% tell you to run away that only tell you one thing. But theres a try it for yourself factor

Porsche Cayenne > Range Rover
In quality and driving performance, yes, but in the looks department, absolutely not. A black range rover sport supercharged on 20" stormers looks awesome. As long as you have a really good extended warranty and live next to a land rover dealer, you've got nothing to worry about . While my LR3 had more than its fair share of dealer visits, not once did it mechanically break down on me. The engine, tranny, and air suspension (surprisingly) are rock solid. It's everything else you have to worry about haha. The new 2010+ sport and LR4 are of MUCH better build quality.
