Sold 2005 911 and bought a 2008 535 xi
This was not an easy decision but my son has been using my everyday car, a 2005 Jeep hemi, grand cherikee limited. I sold my 911 on cars .com for very close to my asking price. I then decided I wanted something sporty yet praticle. I looked at the Merc. slk convertible-soft in the turns, e350-too slow, cls-nice looking but too big, no all wheel drive. I decided to look at BMW specifically the 335 convertible with the retractable hard top. I liked this car but nobody could sell me one unless I wanted to order it for a October delivery. I test drove the 750-really nice car but I felt like an old man in it. I test drove a 550, loved the v8, but no XI all wheel drive. I test drove the 535 xi-WOW !, this car feels great. Excellant acceleration, sporty but praticle and all wheel drive which I need for the winter-DONE.
My 535XI is space gray, natural brown interior which is two tone, some black leather on console and door. Premium pkg, Navigation, cold weather pkg, IPOD integration, Sat. radio. The blue tooth sometimes does not work right ie. I can hear people on the other line but they can not hear me, not sure why it works other times. Other than this the car has been great. I do miss my 911 and someday I will have another but for now I am enjoying this. My last BMW was in 1997 a new M3 at the time, which I felt was too small having just come out of a 1994 BMW 540. This new 535 is more powerful then both those cars were--Amazing!

Congrats on the new car! Others may disagree but I really have gotten hooked on the Sirius Sat. Radio in my car, enjoy! Are winters where you live really that bad that you need the XI?

I thought about the AWD, but I live in Minnesota and lately the winters have been so mild that I probably don't even need to put my winter tires on...lol

I too am coming out of a Porsche, a 2000 Carrera 4 and feel that the Porsche was all motor with no luxury. My 550i, on order, is more than what I need. Good Luck with your 535!

Congrats and welcome to the XI family! Wait until the winter comes and you get a massive storm. You won't believe how well the car handles in the snow.
