I had some work done at the dealer today and asked the dealer to let me know about the software version while they had the scope connected.

Just picked up the car and it states that I have E060-05-06-500 Now that translates to version 17.1 which came out back in June 05. I have a July'05 production 2006 model.
This means this is probably what came with the car.

How can that be possible? I have done few upgrades since. My front side markers work, day time running lights work, and more importantly my angeleye eyebrows work.
And I have had the mp3 enabled about two months ago. So how come the version still shows as 17.1???

Could it be an error by the dealer while they printed me the software version? May be they read something else?

Can anybody shed any light on it? May be cobradav?

Thanks

Hi

Some options can be enabled with out doing a "full" software update . etc. mp3 , AUX in , CDC , and some light relevant updates , so it can be right that you still is running the V17.1 version.

If your car and all electronic is "running" 100% , don't do the update , just for the sacke of it " if it works , don't fix it "

Regards

Thanks for replying, that's what I thought too. I don't have any problem at all so not planning to get the update. But am I missing anything significant to want to get the update while still under warranty (of-course have to come up with some excuse/problem).

On the side note, when I got the mp3 retrofit I used the bulletin (attached here) which clearly states to use program 20.0 or higher to do the mp3 retrofit.
So how can it still be at 17.1 which the car came with from the factory, it?s still a puzzle???

As Ben was saying, the dealer probably just updated the CCC part of your car system, if what I've been told is true, any update using version 24 and below, you can do individual updating anything after that you have to update the entire car.

Nevermind, I didn't remember seeing mention of it in the owner's manual, but I burnt an Mp3 disc yesterday to check and it worked fine.
