I know that this procedure has been posted earlier however can any one send me the link to know the version of the software installed on the I drive?

Also, has my car was mfg. 11/03 and has the nav. prewired. Has BMWNA made available the NAV. upgrade through its dealers and how much does it cost?

Thanks

All those procedures were useless. It is absolutely impossible to determine your version on your own. This has been updated on almost all of those posts. You just have to ask your dealer.

Slight adjustment on the above. Previous to version 11.3 (or arround there) you could check what version you had from the service menue. However, it is no longer visable after that version.

I was able to view my version when I had 11.2, but when I upgade to 12 it was no more.

Don't think so. Mine is Oct 03 build - I haven't upgraded software yet and it does not show version number in the service menu. Also I don't think the service menu sequence works for some cars with NAV though that might also be higher software version.

Sequence is: Press i-drive down 10 sec, 3 clicks Right, 3L, 1R, 1L, 1R, Press

Sorry, Dave. That's incorrect. I had a BMW tech tell me there was absolutely no way of telling your software version on your own. Software version 1 or 12.12. All those other posts on this topic were a joke. You may have thought you could, but you were incorrect.

I ran through all of the sequences and nothing actually revealed the base software version.

Bottom line... Ask the dealer.
