Does anyone know what software version the 2005s are arriving with? I took delivery of my '05 530i last night and am curious what version I'm on. So far it doesn't appear that RDS is working.

Thanks!

Patrick

Parnola:

I don't mean to hijack your thread, but you may be the first post with a US-spec 2005. Do you know whether it has bluetooth capability?

I can't answer your question, but congratulations, Parnola!

Its probably the same 13.1? You should call your dealer to ask what you have now.

Congrats on your new car!

I can confirm Beewang that the E60s picked up through ED do not have bluetooth. If it's going to be included it'll have to happen at the VPC .

Correct. We've heard of VPC delays due to "bluetooth integration issues" and Parnola's E60 is the first that I've heard has made it thru the VPC.

Yes, I finally found BlueTooth buried in the settings for communication. I just checked the box to activate it and it's telling me to turn on my phone. Unfortunately, I can't test it because my current phone isn't BT compatible. I'll be going out tonight to find a BT phone!

If there are any other questions about the '05 let me know - I'll be happy to try to answer them.

Is there a menu setting somewhere to turn RDS on/off? I can't find that anywhere!

My US Spec 2005 530i says "Bluetooth active" or something very similar to that on the i-drive screen under "Communication". I have not tried it though. My dealer confirmed I have bluetooth though.

Yes, there is a setting to turn on/off RDS. It's under the same menu you store stations I believe. It's just a checkbox. I think cars with Nav have RDS disbaled with 13.1 or 13.2. It works on my 2005 without nav just fine.
