As far as update is concerned, it will fix a few things probably but you HAVE to specify for them to add additions in there such as +KMP3 +NAUX etc to the VO (vehicle order) or that will not be done. Best bet is to do it all yourself. It cost less than half what they're charging you to do it yourself and you get some experience at the same time.
hey there i would love to know how to do it myself but dont i need a autologic atleast?

I know what it is but I have never heard of it updating an entire car's drive software. BMW dealers do not use Auto Logic they use the ISIS server. Most Indy shops around here use the online BMW OSS to diagnose and program the car as an annual membership is cheap for them and they have access to pretty much everything as long as they have an internet connection.

That's not what I was told.

A reputable indy shop, SolelyBimmer, they use AutoLogic to do car update as well.

As I said, around my area they don't use Autologic because the BMW software package is more expensive than a BMW OSS annual subscription. I know some Indy's in Ohio that use Autologic. But again, you have to get updated BMW package each time and I don't believe it uses and ICOM. I may be wrong on the ICOM part though. If there is an actual BMW dealer out there that uses Autologic I'd be surprised. We're talking about BMW authorized dealerships here not Indy shops. But anyway, to update the entire car using Autologic.......have no clue. I don't know anyone using it. Doesn't really matter to me anyway because I'd never pay that much for Autologic when I have better. so to the main point...no you do not need Autologic to update a car even if it's possible.
