I had a 2004 525i it was 185 hp, the new 2007 530i has 255 hp
The question is? will there be a notice difference in performance? does 70 hp make a difference at all?
I did notice that the 525i had some passing problems on the autobahn, but once it was up it was moving. The only problem is if someone pulls out in front of you driving slower then you have to build up speed again. with the 525i it took a little time.

The 70 Hp difference is veeeery noticeable, even the 20 Hp is noticeable at this class of engines (185 Hp)
With the new 530i you will need something like half the time at such driving responces.

Hi,
I think that the most difference is in torque. 530i has 300 Nm, that's much more than on 04 525i and so the difference to you is absolutely noticeable.

I had 325i loaner before, and it does not have any torquey feel. When I got my 530i (225hp), I have my grin again
More torquey and better engine response. Please don't inspire me to drive 550i or M5

i thought the old 2.5 liter engine had 194 hp...well anyways i have driven a 05 530 the one with 230hp...and i tell you there is quite a big diffrence...so i imagine the new 530 with 255hp will have HUGE difference...
