Take bluetooth unit out. It's good idea to keep as spare or sell it. I will buy. it's located on driver side right on rear wheel well. You have take trunk floor hooks for harness (use to keep cargo on place).

Hey sorry about the accident, I hope that you are ok, I'm in the NYC area and I have a 04 530i I'm willing to pay or exchange parts that are compatible with mine. But if there isn't any parts that we can trade, it's ok, but my advice to you is cannibalize that car for what it's worth, I had a similar situation a few years back and didn't know that I could have sold or exchange some of the parts and as a result the insurance company got over on me. The way I see it is we don't get money back from the insurance company for being good drivers, so when the opportunity present itself for us to get some money for them we should take full advantage.

Oh man, check this out I have a solutions for you. Here is what you do. Run down to your local auto parts store and pickup a bottle of wax and a detailing kit. Also make sure you grab a clay bar while you're there. Next get yourself a couple micro fiber clouths. Hear me out..... This next step is VERY IMPORTANT. No need to pick-up any air freasher beacause you won't need it, your next car will already have that new car smell....
All jokes aside, glad to hear you're okay. And good luck with this matter.

What exactly are the rules or limitations when swapping out parts on a total loss?
Does the insurance adjuster or someone from the salvage yard have to be there?

state to state varies but they already inspected the car. they dont know lm1 from lm2. No one has to be there from my experiences. just you and tools. I guess depends on the yard rules not insurance company.
