that car is likely done for. remember, everything in the E60 chassis forward of the cowl is structural aluminum that MUST be replaced if damaged. so basically, that car needs everything in the front.

OP glad you walked away unscathed, threads like this should make everyone feel at ease knowing an E60 can sustain this type of impact and not affect its occupants.

Here are some last pictures.
I've already gotten a few PMs about parts. I'll let you know what I'm able to part out and what I can't.
I'd really like to get the RPI exhaust back, but that one may not be worth all the effort that'd need to go into getting it out.
Can't really make any promises until I get stuff back from insurance.

I took the day off work, and started looking around. Might hop on a 1-series convertible.... and there's also a beautifully restored 1987 E30 convertible that caught my eye. I'm 50/50 on both, as are my trusted friends/family. Some say get the 1, some say get the classic 3.

Glad to hear you're OK ... accidents happen, In our area (Mid Atlantic States) we've had long stretches of very hot days and nights and some rain. However, while the heat causes road oils to "float" to the surface of asphalt roads ... it takes a lot of rain to wash them away. Thus, the roads have been very very slippery of late. Add a little bit of rain to the mix and it can be very greasy out there.

Drove back from Connecticut to Southern NJ yesterday and there were many accidents. Most were from drivers encountering slippery conditions they weren't "prepared" for!

Drive carefully out there!!
