My Ride: 05 545i, Jet Black, Black Leather, Black Anthracite. Sport Pkg, HUD, NAV, 20-way Comfort Seats, Prem Snd Pkg Logic7, Htd Rear Seats, Rear side impact, Cold Weather Pkg, Fold Down Rear Seat/Ski bag, Soon 2B chromed rims. Picked up in Munich, Drove it to Prague, Vienna, Salburg & Bremerhaven. Put on 1300 miles. Enjoyed driving it 140mph on Autobahn (4,400 rpm).
Is $155 the So Cal going rate for an oil change on a 545? That's what South Bay BMW is quoting me for my early oil change. I thought I saw prices in the $60's & $80's in other threads, but not sure if that was for the V6's. Let me know if surrounding dealorships are cheaper. Thanks guys

I'm in New Orleans and it was $82 for my 545's first oil change. $155 sounds way high, but I'm sure your labor is much higher and maybe CA has some additional taxes/disposal fees for the used oil. Either way, definitely on the high side.

What dealer??? It like int the $80's at crevier...santa ana, ca. Don't forget, if you need parts and wnat a discount, talk to dave at crevier and mention "roadfly", it's like a 20% discount.

Why in the world are you paying for your oil change. I thought our cars came with maintenance package that covers this for the first 60,000 miles? I had mine expended for 100,000 miles. It shouldn't cost you anythin. My ride is a 2004.

teriyaki88, some of us are just old school about oil changes. Seriously, the real reason I did an early one was to get fresh oil after the break-in period. No real basis in fact for doing it, but read that sometimes after break-in, small metal shavings can be in the oil. Figured the $80 was piece of mind since I own not lease and will have this car for quite a while (I hope!) From now on I'll do the annual or whenever the computer says for free.

But can you reset the computer or is that not necessary for in-between changes?
