I finally got a chance to drive my car in serious snow (3-4 inches). Dunlop M3s performed beautifully. Coming from friends? house last night I had a lot of fun passing SUVs and Audis. It was obvious that RWD with snow tires is much better in snow than 4wd with all-seasons. Today (12+ inches) is a different story though. Looks like snow is too deep for my 545. Will probably go out to check its limits later anyway.

hehe....its snowing a foot in MA. Although the roads were plowed there was still alot of snow. My car did fine in those snow and I could still get it up to 55-60mph on straights. throughout my drive, I was worried that I might have to replace the DSC light bulb

Same with me in Long Island, New York. After I snow plowed the driveway, I decided to take my e60 for a spin. Hell the DSC was blinking like a turn signal. Not the best with the conti tires. Took my wifes 325xi out, drove great. It seems that xi sytem is all that its cracked up to be.
I let you do the test drive in the snow. We have snow here in POK. too and i am hiding like a chicken hiding from his master wanting to have him for dinner! (Hey..i am not good as joke..i came up with that one now)

It seems that the snow depth in N.Y.C. is a new record since something like 60 years !
Back in in 2001 we had one storm that dumped 16", largest I can remember.
Aside from being excruciatingly careful (I go into the office before 6am, so traffic was nil) on the summer tires, the car was amazing. You could feel DSC braking each wheel individually to hold your line.
With winter tires I would not hesitate to drive it in the snow regularly. I'm sure the ix models are even more confident.
This morning's commute was fine on Long Island. Most of the roads are plowed and the E60 handled the packed snow with no problem. Yesterday was more fun. Donuts in the E30. Wheeeeeeeeee....
