There was a shop on KYW news this morning ... a relatively new 7 series spinning it's wheels trying to move through an intersection while other cars simply drove by!
Probably worn out all season tires or a Summer set up the driver didn't know were not suitable for cold winter weather. In either case it poorly represented the car's capability in inclement weather.

I have A/S tires on P/S amd was surprised how well it went over packed snow and inclines... With my summer tires I would of not even moved or went sideways...
Huge difference as well as it handles as good as the continentals that it came with in the summer...

My Ride: 550i 2006
comfort/active seats, active steering, active lights, active cruise control, comfort entry, TV, Pro logic 7 sound, bloody fast too.
me too. 550i
with continental tyres that are smooth with a few grooves here and there.
what a waste of time, nearly smashed my car 3 times trying to get home last night.
couldn't even park in my street.
now i've just ordered:
Item: Goodyear Ultra Grip Performance 2 245/35 R19 93V XL M+S marking
and
Item: Goodyear Ultra Grip Performance 2 275/30 R19 96V XL M+S marking
hope this help me a bit, but ouch! 275's and 245's are pricey, plus i had to get them ordered from Germany as the UK has hardly heard of winter tyres.
