I've had my vehicle a couple of months now (2500 miles), and I still haven't figured out how to consistently bring it to a smooth stop. The vehicle also has a tendency to lunge forward after I put it into park and remove my foot from the brake. A quick search of this forum indicates that this was a previous issue for some, but I would now like to know if anyone found a resolution? Is it the brake pads? I just can't imagine that a vehicle with a $70K+ sticker has this sort of problem. Am I alone on this?

It took me several months of driving (3-5k miles) to start getting consistent smooth stops.

I don't have your park issue. The car my roll forward slightly after I put it in park only if I don't engage the parking brake. If I do both the car stays still when I let off the brake. When both of my cars are in the garage I park them within a foot of each other, so I definitely would have noticed this prob if it happened to me.

Lunge forward or roll a little? Rolling a little is normal for those sloppy automatics.

Lunging forward sounds like a problem. Probably software related...

Not getting a smooth stop... sounds like the "soft stop" or whatever software feature BMW claims that makes for a smoother stop because it releases the brake pressure a little just before the car actually stops so it doenst jerk... Ya I hate it and glad I dont have it because I do that myself and i can get perfect smooth stops every time... Software doing the smooth stop doesnt work. at least a lot of the times it doesnt work. More poor programming.
