Really? Even if I use launch control?
The SL65 would indeed smoke an M5 & the newer 63AMG variants would put up a good fight, being perhaps 50/50 as stated. But i'd not worry too much about a CLS55 or E55. They COULD win but you'd really have to fluff you're take off. From a rolling start it's even easier to dispatch one.
Just Google for the many head to heads. To be fair, the 55's are down on power by about 25BHP but they do have a chunk more torque with their blowers. Easier to get a 50+BHP gain as well with a decent map, so beware of the modded ones.

You'd have to drive like a pu$$y to be smoked. Our friend is being dramatic as usual.

over the quarter mile the CLS55 AMG recorded a 12.7s time, the best the M5 recorded was 13.2s
Surely them being professional race and drift drivers, is overtly dramatic as well ?

i would invite you to look at the BESTmotoring feature on the m5 vs cls55 amg. The cls won with esp on against the m5 in three scenarios (dsc on, dsc off S5, dsc off S6)
