SMG Transmission Fault

My Ride: 2005 545i Titanium Grey Metallic SMG, Black Nasca Leather, Sport Package, Logic7, Comfort Ventilated Seats, Sat Radio, Split Folding Rear Seats
Anyone else have a transmission fault with there SMG? Mine is at the dealer right now, with 2100 miles on it, because of a transmission fault. It failed to shift from 1st to 2nd when I tapped the paddles and then a screen came up on iDrive indicating Transmission Fault, car will only operate in R, N, 1, 2, & 3. Any other experiences?

I tried stopping and restarting twice, the error message still came up. It'll be interesting to see what the dealer says.

if it keeps coming back, I would guess that you actually do have something wrong with the tranny. If the car is 30 days or younger, RETURN IT!

My transmission was replaced at 1,500 miles. The dealer and BMWNA don't know why, but they opened a puma case and BMWAG decided to give me a new transmission and recall the one I had.

The car is about 52 days old. When you say they replaced your transmission, how long did that take? Hopefully they had you in a decent loaner.

My Ride: 2004 545I WHITE ON GRAY , SMG, NAV, SPORT PKG, PREM SND, COLD WTHR, STOCK CHROME, TITANIUM TINTS, EURO REFLECTORS, DEBADGED.
IT happened 2 me many times it said transmission fault drive at moderate speeds but when i turned it off and on it went away.When i told my dealer they said they couldnt duplicate the problem as usual

When I took mine in the warning was still on in iDrive, let's see what they do with this one.

The dealer "upgraded" the SMG software (frankly, I assume they did nothing...)
It hasen't come back since then.
