SMG owners, there may be a recall for your car. I brought mine in for service and was told that that was an open campaign for Recall SIB 23-02-07 Recall 07E-A02 SMG. It's some sort of reprogramming.
I didn't pick up my car tonight, but I'm curious what the difference is. I also have the sprintbooster and wonder if there's a difference.

has been open for sometime now, got mine done 2 months back. It will resolve the slam issue from 2nd to 1st and make shifting smoother.

I just printed out the bulliten, called habberstad here in Long Island, the service dept manager, spoke to her about it, and she said to fax the paperwork to her. If it is true, that an updated is needed, which I havn't heard any slamming from 2 to 1, they say they will do the update with no problems.
She says she hasn't heard of any updates for the smg model, only m5's. Let's se what thety have to say....I will keep you informed of any information

Me neither -- I always thought the slam issue was on the Step, not the SMG...

I had the transmission slam when driving in D mode back in Jan 2005. It was fixed since v16 of the software.
