Been thinking the same thing. I changed the tranny oil in my E39 528i every 60k miles and I "thought" it made a difference. I plan on keeping my 550i SMG for a good long time, so do we change that fluid, or buy into the "lifetime fill" goo>

Bump.......Im at 45K miles and have been thinking I want to do this soon as well. I tried doing search, but havent really found anyone that has done the DYI on the SMG tranny! 
Has anyone done this, whether DYI or indy shop???
