im trying to install the smg shifter plate and center consule from an 2006 m5. i have the gear selector plate, but i cant find the center consule trim for the smg plate. the shape is different than that of a steptronic. the cutout is different. i been going back and fourth with gary from bmw of rhode island, but we cant figure it out. he sent me 2 already that were incorrect. im looking for a m5 center consule trim in brushed aluminum that the smg plate will pop into. can anyone please help me with a part number? nothing on real oem and even gary is stumped!! lol

There are 2 versions. Pre 9/2005 and Post 9/2005.... I am sure yours (2004 545i) is Pre 9/2005 so you need ones from that version. the ones from 2006 M5 won't fit on 545i I believe.
