Our car is recalled to have this potential problem checked out (04/03 (!) production).

If the hole is burned from underneath, yes. If the hole is from the outside, no.

Maybe that should be: If your hole is burned from underneath, yes.

(Couldn't let that one pass )

Well, as anyone who lives in the northeast USA knows that winter is upon us again therefore the need to crank up those seat warmers again. Well, for the past few days whenever I turn the seat warmers on I get this nasty odor emanating from somewhere in the driver's seat area (can't put my finger on just exactly where as yet). It smells like burning electrical wiring. Has anyone else experienced this? The smell is so strong that I have to turn off the seat warmer and open the windows to air the car out.

Are you sure it is not your butt? I am agreeing with some one else who asked the same question!

For info. My seat cover was already replaced once half a year ago due to this problem. I was told because of short circuit. Yesterday after half an hour seat heater's operation I smelt smth burning. Have to see with the garage again.
