+1. I've got the CDV part, had it for almost 2 years now, but never got around to installing it.
Uhm, I believe that "reset" only applies to automatic transmissions

I have what sounds like the same issuel If I have the RPM's around 1500 and the car is around 40-45 MPH I get a noticeable stumble. It seams like the trans gets confused and wants to shift but then second guesses it self and doesn't shift. There is no drop in RPM's when it happens and the software and trans reset has been done many times. My SA said well not much we can do about it because it only happens at certian times and it not able to be duplicated on a regular basis. Well I can make it happen almost every time I drive the car....

My Ride: 2005 530i 6Speed.
I have the same issue, usually when I'm in second gear an around 3k rpm's to 4. I've thought about getting the injectors cleaned but will try the Chevron fuel cleaner first. After reading the replies I wonder if it is just normal, but as someone said, odd that it would be "normal" on a 60k car.

Check my posts... I had the same problem.
I still get the rocking on a cold start, but the at-speed slight stumbling was resolved with Heet dry gas.
I poured a bottle of the red Heet into a 1/4 tank and filled up, and the problem cleared itself immediately.

Sounds like you all need to do the 25 second tranny reset and get a sprint booster.

I've sort of decided it's probably not harmful - just another annoying trait of these ZF transmissions...

2006 550i... figured I'd chime in as I have same problem when accelerating slowly from a stop. Very slight jerkiness on the first shift.. feels like a car that has had a "shift kit" installed. Almost can describe it as an aggressive downshift.
It's most noticeable when I'm trying to accelerate slowly and only lightly pressing the gas.
When I pull away normally, it doesn't really happen.
Perfectly smooth in sport mode.
Perfectly smooth once it's warmed up.
Never a problem in any situation other than accelerating slowly from a stop.
