My car currently has Sirius installed but I need to transfer the account from the previous owner. The Sirius customer service rep suggested that if I selected the Satellite mode in Idrive, I'd be able to locate the ESN. Didn't happen... suggestions, tips, tricks? Please help!

Btw, I did a search and found a lot of Sirius references but nothing on where to find the ESN.. help!

I did the same thing. If it is still working and you are getting Sirius leave it alone, the previous owner already set it up, then as soon as it runs out it will tell you to call Sirius w/a 800 # as well as the ESN number. Mine still had some months left with the free 1 year so I just waited it out then got a 2 year plan. If it just doesn't work, I don't know what to tell, try selecting a Sirius station then when it goes to play it should say call Sirius w/the same 800 # and ESN.

Good Luck

John007, got it... I'll leave well enough alone for now.. thanks! I didn't realize that it would tell me to call Sirius and give me the ESN. I had Sirius on my other and I can't live without it!

To see your ESN, when listening to Sirius, press down the iDrive button. This will pull the menu with options like Store, Play, Treble, Bass and the last one as I recall is ESN. Turn the iDrive button to ESN and press down to display the ESN. Doing this from memory here at work (don't tell anyone! ) so the steps may be slightly off, but it should get you there...

Btw, kscarrol, your instructions were perfect... and I wasn't quite as fortunate, had to call Sirius to reactivate it on the way home... after 26 minutes on the line with them (they couldn't understand why it was deactivated earlier today and then a different person reactivating it) it's good to go.
