I have seen some posts about a possible retrofit for Sirius Radio? It mentioned that BMW had to wire the Satellite antenna to the BMW FIN. I was not offered the Satellite prep kit when I bought my car.

Can I get the BMW Sirius receiver installed with the Idrive integration but use a standard Sirius antenna instead of having to run wires to the Fin?

I may be way off base here.

SAT prep is more than just the Shark Fin antenna. Ther are a few other wires. I beleive there is a way to retrofit the SAT prep kit. If you search around you should find the answer.

 

I don't think you can get Sirius sat integrated into idrive unless you get all the parts installed, including the antenna in the fin.

I couldn't get prep for sat installed, so they have to rip apart the car to get wiring in place and parts installed.

It's a whole kit of parts and wiring too.
