I ordered my '05 last week with both NAV And Sirius factory installed. So they (hopefully) appear to have the issue resolved.

I have a question for european members is D.A.B. radio the same as sirius radio?? DAB (Digital Audio Broadcasting) has a very high sound quality and will be available in the netherlands in 2005. Can we upgrade our cars then to be able to recieve those stations???

Dennis, I've got bad news.
Just talked to a BMW rep...
There is no way you can put a DAB radio in an E60.
Currently...
Not sure about the future - but definately no software upgrade, you would need a new radio... So you have to wait until BMW has radios/nav systems who can receive DAB...

Thanks for the welcomes!

I did have the option to order it with Sirius from the factory, but at the time I didn't think I wanted it, so I just got the "prep" in case I changed my mind.

I'm going to go ahead and call my dealer and ask them to add it on when the car arrives (still listed as En Route? ).? I'll let everyone know if they successfully install it for me.? I think it'll be a couple weeks before my car gets to the dealer, though.? It shipped 5 days ago.? My coworker just got an M5 and it was 3 weeks after it shipped for him.

I wonder if this is going to be another one of those things that are holding the cars up at the prep centers like bluetooth is. When I ordered my car back in April of 04 I was not able to get the Sirius radio. I decided I now want it after using the 3 day free sample on their web site where you can listen to all of the stations for free for three days.

ummm I wondering now if the dealer can install the Sirius in my car. <_< they gave me an awesome deal and said OK but now reading the posts out there it seems my car is not compatible (build on Aug 2003) and took delivery on Dec2003. I don't recall a satellite pre-wired option back then so I hope they can install it. So far I left my car in service for maintenance and for the Sat installation. No calls from the rep yet crossing my fingers

I'm still hearing that there is no projected date for a retrofit of Sirius on cars with Navigation. Previously, they gave an October date but now they're backing away from any dates and are "still working on it."

Still keeping my fingers crossed!
