So, it appears that Bluetooth is moving along. I've picked up my RAZR and now I just have to schedule the software upgrade. This makes me happy.

What about Sirius? Do we know if NAV + BT + Assist + Sirius is now possible? Or would I have had to had some kind of Sirius prep or somesuch silliness?

Peace.

When I ordered my car there was a "Sat Prep" charge of $70. Check your invoice.

You need Sat Prep, which I'm that I don't have (I mean why would you make it a $70 option when the financial consequences for not doing it are orders of magnitude higher - how does this impact owners 2,3, etc..., and aren't you eliminating a potential biz opportunity by not including it? Im sure they get a royalty share or something with Sirius). Anyhow, it pisses me off this was a small, incremental option. Nevertheless, it is my understanding that if you want it factory (i.e. through the shark fin and through iDrive) that it will set you back somewhere like two grand instead of $400-$500. The only other option as I understand is to pipe it in through a FM modulator, maybe the aux input IF you are lucky - these are IMO less than optimal solutions.

I'm an AT&T costumer, so I "migrated" for free to Cingular to do this. It cost the standard singular discounted cost, $499 or whatever it is.

I've read in several places that Cingular doesn't actually lock any of the world phones despite what they say, so in principle one could use the phone for another carrier.

Peace.

Interesting, my dealer still claims Sirius is coming to Germany! I emailed Sirius and they claim only Canada is currently in the works. I had the dealer go back to BMW throught the ASAP line and received the same information. I have tried in both English and German ( I had a German friend do this so there weren't any mistakes with my poor language skill in this area). He maintains that Bavaria will have this service March-April 05. So, another wait is on.
