My mirror broke off as others on here have done. I'm sure they all fail at the same place which is this aluminum mount. I was told that I have to buy a whole new mirror ($1000+) which I am hoping to avoid. I was also told I could not fix this. I had/have a plan to fix it, but when I took the entire mirror apart, this individual piece actually comes out and can be replaced. I've looked all over... it is not even listed as a part on realoem. It has the number 52264 on the underside. Does anyone know where I can find this aluminum mount, who I should call, where I should look? This is off of an M5, does anyone know if this mount is the same as on the 5 series? Thanks

Any junk yard? I haven't checked, but I can asure you there are not many M5's sitting in junk yards. I checked around Houston a couple of years ago for a junk yard e46 M3 which is much more common, and usually the people just laughed at me. This may be a good option if the mirror mount is the same as the 5 series... which goes back to my question... has anyone seen the inside of the 5 series mirror to know if this mount is the same?

Unless you can actually find a junked M5 buying some replicas might be better.

Or maybe you can glue/weld the piece...
