Those lights you are talking about are extra, "Lights Package", code 563 in Europe.
Interior will have also some lights in the doors like the 7 E65.
Tuga.

My 525 here in the US does have the side mirror lights. Don't know if it's an option, but might have come with the premium package I ordered.
Very nice car, but an interesting complaint emerging here in the US due to the Euro/$ shift, that the 525 and 530 are underpowered for the $$ spent, after the recent price increases. 545 owners aren't complaining, of course.
We appear to be moving past what had seemed an endless styling debate as the car's sales continue steadily. Roadfly still has a lot of intense pro/con debates, but Edmunds has moved to practical car issues and solutions, thank god. Are there other good Boards where the design issue isn't the major topic of conversation?
Also, has anyone learned how to modify/hack the I-drive? Could be fun to make a few changes.

guess my car will get that "exit" lighting. happy to know that..
thanks for the reply guys.
yah..im so confused with so many people bragging about the design.. if they dont like it just shut up and buy another car..cause there are still a lot of bimmer who cant stop to buy the "newly design". ( in fact..the sales inc during past 4 months in 2003, but decrease in january 2004..this is one month margin..we cant say).
everytime i saw E60 on the road..it looks outstanding among the other cars especially with E class (the current model already looks outdated for me). the design line in E60 is somehow "futuristic" somehow "classic". it just looks very different on the road.. (probably thats why so many people staring whenever you bring your car on the road).

Art Deco
from the lines of the headlights to the sweeping curve of the door handle dealie (can't think of the name): the overall curves and lines of the body screams the 30s
and I like Art Deco
i love the look of the e60 and really don't get that some many seem to hate it - if you want to freak about a car gone bad, talk about Volvo's and Jags: they only get worse
but what do I know... I didn't think the 7 was so bad either.

Looks like we're back to the styling debate....
I think that if you hack the iDrive, don't be surprised if your warranty is invalidated.
P.S. I think the new E series is beautiful, pity about how it drives. The E60 drive is another story, however.
