I've been looking into a CPO e60 for a while now and I've been wondering if I should make the jump into a 06-07 CPO or should I wait a few months maybe even into 08 to get my hands on the LCI possibly preowned with obviously very low mileage? Ive come across some nice 06-07 CPOs but we all know there are some small details on the LCI that some may consider worth waiting for. I know it really comes down to the money I want to spend but I'm curious, what are the chances of the second scenario and how long should I hold out? Guys on here know what theyre talking about so please any feedback is greatly appreciated.

its really up to you. maybe some motivation for the LCIs you could have a look at some of the reviews of the new sport automatic transmission by members rudy and pennetta.

Id go for a newer model. I think its worth the wait. After all, you would be getting something newer for the wait, and the value wouldnt drop as much if you were to sell it in the future.

thanks for the feedback. the only real downside to the LCI would be that I'd have to wait....does anyone have any idea how the 5s typically decrease in price over the first 6-12 months from release? ive put a lot of time into researching the e60 and at this point im comfortable with spending a good amount on one, just trying to get an idea of what to expect if i do wait

You will most likely be waiting a while. I would just get the pre-LCI. The LCI has modest interventions in my opinion. It depends upon which engine that you are after. The differences between the 545 and the LCI 550 are very marginal. It you want the the V8 just go for the pre-LCI 545. I recommend the sport package if your interests lie there. If you want the 6 cylinder that is a tougher call. The 535 with bi-turbos is noticeably better than the 530 in the opinion of many enthusiasts. However the 530 engine was the best engine in its class for its day. It depends upon what you value and want to spend. They are all great cars.
