I wanted to just program my auxiliary in iDrive which BMW was charging $300+ for. Used NCS, followed the steps and it worked. Same as for INPA. Used it to read and reset error codes I had and worked. I had success with it but I dont mess around with it.

Be very careful in using it though as you can mess up your car modules very easily.
Would you be more specific than just stating to be very careful? What function(s) can mess up the modules? I really really do not want to damage my modules. Thanks.

I have always used EUAutohaus setup. Has not failed me on any task big or small. I have used them all and BMW factory diagnosis and programming software is by far the best.

So how can a module get messed up? I just plan to use it to reset stuff and nothing more.

There's no way a module can get messed up. Whoever said that doesn't know what their doing in the first place.

Yes I was able to program the auxiliary through NCS. Not difficult at all. As for the battery, I am not sure, I am sure though it can be done. Look around on the forums.

You will not damage your modules. I'm sorry if I was not clear, I meant in the programming part just know what you are doing. always save a copy of your original so if you mess up in the programming, reload it back.
Like AchtungE60 said, you cant mess them up or do any damage. Its very simple. Just look through the forums, they have steps on how to use it. follow that you will be good.

Ok I found the directions online but BM Technic was not able to reset my oil service interval. It appeared to be resetting as the dash went to the service screen, made a ding sound, then showed 64,000 miles but did not reset the notification. Wtf?

I haven't had that problem. Go hereBM Technic Diagnostic Systems - The M3cutters - UK BMW M3 Group Forumand the are some tutorials, or chris will answer your question.

I found that exact thread when I googled for information last night but for some unknown reason it did not reset the oil interval though. Also, the screen when I went to Body switched to German and I couldn't read it but pressed F2 per the instructions to reset the oil.
