I bought one a couple months back for $36 off ebay which included INPA, NCS, and the other stuff.

BMW USB OBD Diagnostic Cable Inpa Ediabas Dis SSS GT1 | eBay

I wanted to just program my auxiliary in iDrive which BMW was charging $300+ for. Used NCS, followed the steps and it worked. Same as for INPA. Used it to read and reset error codes I had and worked. I had success with it but I dont mess around with it.

Be very careful in using it though as you can mess up your car modules very easily.

NCS can do no damage. Now, without the right interface...like all softwares... can cause damage. But NCS cannot screw up your vehicle. Give me a specific example and I'll give you a specific reason why you're wrong.

These back and forth discussions are getting me no where.

Can someone recommend a product that they've actually used a bunch of times that hasn't messed up their modules or anything else?

I already have an OBD2 reader. I was referring to BMW diagnostic software.

Ok got it. The second link is broken by the way. I could swear it worked earlier.

Here it is. The reason why I like it is because my OBD2 reader is always in the car and I always have the phone on me. So I don't need to carry any extra equipment and the software reads all the codes.
