Ive got an appointment to get the CIP 20 next Thursday with a loaner car ready. Should I get it if my car is doing fine with no problems? The SA seems eager to give it to me, but if my car is running well now I hate to ruin anything.

I would wait... if everything is running fine why touch it? I'm still on V16.2 and still dont have a reason to get anything higher as it gives me no benefit and I dont want to touch a working system not unless someone can prove to me that the newer version gives me better shifting or better accleration etc etc then I'll think about risking it. With all these software controlling everything if one of them messes up and conflicts with another you're going to get problems. Look at your computer works really well till you mess with it.
Not trying to discourage you if you want it by all means go for it. But its a risk.

Nothing is missing as far as features go. I told the SA that my engine is rough after cold starts but its not really. I mean its rough for about 5 seconds then it calms down, smooth as butter. I have MP3 play back. I did hear a slight pinging sound under light load but I think the dealership put some cheap gas for the first tank full. I have not heard it since after I put some premium gas in it.

I didn't have to pay for mine.
One thing has happened that concerns me. The communications subprocessor is getting replaced because it wouldn't take the update. BMWNA is replacing it at no cost, just like the rest of the service.

A major reason many people want to get CIP 20 upgrade is becuase of MP3 function.
If your cars runs okay, and you already have all the functions that suppostly come with the car, why update for no addition gain.
I just picked up my car with CIP 20 upgarded last night. It was so cool, I can play MP3 now!!! Yapeee!!

I just had 20.0.01 installed, and noticed right away that the car feels much HEAVIER. Breaking, steering, and acceleration are all really heavy- not happy. But I am going to wait until a couple hundred miles for the computer to "learn" my driving style.
