Hello to all the E60 owners. So I finally bought OEM shadowline trim, and it arrives today. I looked over the DIY, but kind of got scared of by the 3-4 install that people were talking about. I want to save money, but is it worth doing it at home. I don't want it to look funky or out of place. I'll post pics after the install. KSPORT coilovers come in soon, were on backorder. But I got an awsome E60 member to help out with that one. This damn forum is soo addicting, $$$$ thanks guys love seeing all those cars out there. A BMW is the best thing a person can buy.

Do it dude it's easy! I did mine myself. Is this the DIY you are referring to:

https://5series.net/forums/topic/282...-line-upgrade/

All you need is a screw driver, light hammer (rubber preffered but not necessary), pieces of cloth (to prevent the trim from touching and scratching the car)

TIP: when you get the trims, look at it really good. Look at the grooves and look at how it would fit on the car.

TIP: As you take each piece off, take pictures with your phone before it comes off so that you can see how it fits and you can reference it with the new piece.

TIP: Do one door at a time so that you can use the un-touched door as a reference to how the trims fit with the rubber seals and other fitment issues.

Good Luck!

DIY is the best way to save money. I felt the same way before i did mine. Read the DIY instructions carefully, once you get the 1st piece out, the rest will be much easier. Trust me. Good luck.

It's really not so bad. Follow the DIY and be patient. You don't want to bend or crimp a section. If you do, however, you can but a single replacement piece. I would buy through Garry of Newport (see sticky in Parts and Accesories) as he gives a discount forum members.
