Default Should I buy 545i? Help

should i buy this 545i8 lol i know ive been whining to get one but this one is from my dealership.

2004 545i 128,000 miles 3 owners on carfax. the first owner lemon, buybacked it . the 3rd owner had the car from 66k miles until 128k miles for almost 5 years. it has 28 service records on it . my lot was planing to send it to auction but willing to sell it to me for 6,000$.the cons are the volume button does not work and the cup holders are both broken. Had an emissions light on that my dealership is taking care of for me.It is the dark grey with black interior everything is all stock . The carfax lemoned it right after a fuel pump fix. All the service records are from fulton and Berkeley BMW .

From what my boss told me is it is going to need new engine mounts soon I was quoted from my local independent at 600$
Should I have them also do alternator bracket seal gasket while they are at it?

Way less than what I paid for mine a few years ago. Check the service records for the maintenance that's been completed especially the dreaded coolant pipe. I just ordered the pipe to replace that on my 545. f. If most of the major issues have been rectified and its in great running order now, I'd say go for it. But DEF get some type of warranty on it.

The carfax doesn't show major services but then again no one in their right mind has BMW do their coolant pipe for 5k+ . I did not smell any coolant smell or gas or oil smell when test driving the car and after WOT it ran good , other than minor jumpiness from tachometer.

$6k is quite a good deal. However, it is a BMW 5 series that is now 10 years old. Although the selling price is cheap - maintenance will not be!
The car might be ready for water pump #3 fairly soon too. The pump went out on my 535i at 52k miles, and the 335i I just picked up had the pump replaced ~6k miles ago at 70k miles. These pumps are known to break in the 60-80k mile range so I wouldn't be surprised if its already on pump #2 and getting ready for #3. If you can't DIY that be prepared for another $800+ repair bill.

I highly recommend replacing the water pump with an aftermarket pump which uses a metal impeller rather than the weak composite impeller BMW used. Wait until it breaks though - no point in doing this as preventative maintenance unless you want to avoid being stranded somewhere.

I don't mind maintenance I drive around 15-20k miles a year and if projected maintenance is more than 3,000$ a year I will dump the car . I have good independent mechanics .
How do you like your 535i vs 335i ? I like both cars but am considering a 335i for the tuning
