no doubt, 528 is nice too, that's why i was debating to get 528 or pay more for 535
to me, i thought it was no need to have 535 in nyc, but from here, i know if i dont want myself to regret, i should get 535

so i ended up with 535xi, after tax and intereste, also 7 years warranty total $59500
car has 5k miles now, i love it

some people dont like turbo, some people dont need more power, then 528 is the best fit

Some of us have bought 525's and 528's because we wanted the BMW handling without getting a gas hog. Some of us are more into the high end speed rather than the quick power burst. Either way, the well-trained driver can smoke a non-trained driver in just about any car. All E60's are top speed limited at the same speed (145MPH) while the M5 gets an extra 10 MPH.
I love that post. I have a 528i and was feeling a bit left out but now I am

If you don't need the power, 528 + comfort seat is really good option. My old 525xi with no comfort seat, i get tired really quickly from long drives, but in the 535 with comfort seat, i can drive 3 or 4 hours without much problem. And upgrade the sound system if you like music, I think it's worth it.

How the heck did you dig that out? I'd forgotten all about that post, but then again at my age I forget what I had for lunch the previous day.

When Ii had the 535 loaner I looked at the engine and did notice the Engine temp did seem a bit high? When I took off the oil filler cap I noticed the cap was pretty hot. No idea if it is designed to be like that?

No doubt the 535 is a more powerful car than the 528, but there are still some of us who are leery when it comes to turbo charged engines. The 535 also has some real overheat issues and it just scares me. If power was all I was after, I would probably look at the 8 cyl. engines before even considering the turbo. Also, I'd like to remind many enthusiasts that there's no need to call the slower E60s a joke. Some of us bought them by choice and don't like to hear that our cars are a "joke." There's not such a thing as a "joke" BMW. They're all great cars. It's like saying that if you prefer to date a model or an actress all the other women (or men) are a joke.

Probably. Since the exhaust the turbos are throwing around is pretty damn hot, I would expect the car to run a bit hotter than a non-force-induction car. The cooling issues haven't been bad for me. I figured some RPi scoops and a drop-in filter would be perfect for my stock 535. Plus, the weather's starting to get cold and in Chicago, 27 degree cold air is gonna make the skidding upside-down on the ice worth it.

Congratulations on your purchase. I am glad you like it. Good luck with your new car and I wish you many years of trouble-free motoring. How about some pictures???
