Shorter oil exchange interval
I'm not sure what you mean by "write down the labels".
If you mean you don't want to reset the oil change intervals you don't have to. But if you do there's a pretty good video on youtube for resetting all service lights.

i don't believe he wants to put pen or pencil to paper. my suggest would be to change, reset, and change again 1/2 way thru the default mi/kilo in the idrive.

I do mine halfway as well... no sticky labels on my windshield. Just change it at the halfway point and then reset it on the next change. I am not sure coding will take care of the interval...
Aha. So you just reset every time you change the oil, and after that watch the remain counter until next change.
When approaching 15.000km, you know it's time for change. That's not a bad idea.
And yes, i did not want to write the next service on labels in engine compartment, as did on older cars.
Therefore, i thought can set the oil service to warn me at 15.000 instead of 30.000. In my old VW could do this little interval setting with the laptop and an OBD interface. I had two choices: 15000 or 30000 (Long Life).
Thank you for advice!

No, actually I reset it every other time... for example: Its at 15k miles after a reset - I change the oil at 7500 miles remaining, and let it run so the next change is due when it tells me... then I reset it and do it again at 7500 and then 0 and so on.

I change my oil and filter annually ( low annual mileage now that I'm retired ! ) and reset it every time .
