Almost embarrased to ask, but. On my 2008 535xi the steering wheel from about the 10 oclock to the 2 oclock area is getting shinny as thats where I mostly grip it. Anybody know of a way to dull it or texture it to look more like it used to?

It bugs me because everything else in the interior still looks like new.

Well being that your car is only 2 years old i doubt the leather on the wheel is worn so my guess would be that the oil from your hands are layering onto the wheel. Take a interior cleaner and wipe it down with a microfiber. I use stoner trim clean as it is strong enough to remove grime & dirt but contains no harsh chemicals.

There is something called cleaning sponge for this application.

Someone once mentioned that the Mr Clean Magic Eraser sponge thing works great.

Try the above or get any get a leather cleanser and conditioner like Gliptone (Good product). Then just clean and then condition it to get rid of the shine.

Leaves a nice leather smell too

Im sure there must be loads of products or even Leather wet wipe type products that you can try but as said above the shines from layers of oil from your hands so you will need to clean the oil off first to get rid of the shine

Good Luck
