I was curious if anyone with SMG thought it took to long to shift from 1st to reverse.
I also noticed that if you shift to reverse before the i-Drive comes up it will tell you the car is in neutral when you are really in reverse.
Anyone else experience this?

My Ride: 2008 535i: June 6th start build, complete June 17th, at NY Port July 5th, at dealer July 10th, took delivery Friday July 13- Plantimum Bronze/Natural Brown Leather/Light Poplar, Sport Package, Sport Auto, Active Steering, Premium Package, CWP & PDC. Dinan Performance Software 384hp & 421 ft/lbs.
I've experienced some of that, not significant though. All in all, I love the tranny. Would like a "chirp" the tires as you go though the gears mode...

My experience is that the transmission works faster than the software. LED may indicate N, but stepping on the pedal will move the car forward or reverse depending on the position of the shifter. It takes an instant for the software to catch up with the shifter position.

As I get more accustomed to the car, I just start off like a standard transmission, depending on the stick position rather than the LED. The engine is so quiet, I sometimes have to check the tach to be sure it cranked.
