Has anyone else had this issue potentially with the new software? I remember i received a call before for service when i needed an oil change. I also saw that my car had sent the request. However, everyday so far (since the upgraded software in July) it has failed to transmit, even in places where i get good cell phone service. I called BMW assist from my car and that seemed to work, although the operator did have to re-request my position in order to know where I was. She told me it failed to send the information when I called here. Perhaps there is something wrong with the positional transmission part...apologies if this has been posted before i searched and didn't find it.

Recent Service Bulletin is out on this issue:

It's too long with pictures to post full text so I'll post enough for search engine and attach the full SIB in Adobe.

Out of curiosity, where does a person go to find the SIB and TSB publications?

Hey that is great info (as usual on here!). I guess it must be no.2 because I have an account and it does say "Update services". But that is really scary if living in an area where i get good cell phone coverage my car will not be able to transmit the location if i am in an accident...hmm I will ask the dealer when i go in for my service. Thanks!
