My oil change was overdue by 200 miles, so I went ahead and changed the oil this afternoon.

Now I can't go in to the service item reset menu, as I've been able to before. Do I need to go to BMW because I let it go overdue?

It's really annoying me!

There is no such reset for the E60, overdue or not.

Only the BMW Service can do it.

PS. Did you also change the oil filter and the oil plug gasket and the fresh air filters?

Is that because it went overdue? I have been able to do it before.

Thanks. Maybe I'm doing something stupid, it's a while since I last tried.

I hold down the odo reset as normal, and the yellow exclamation mark comes up. If I let go at that point and press again, it does nothing and I just get the clock. If I keep holding down I get the german diagnostics that you normally see if you've held down the button too long.

for me, i hold down the odo reset untill the service indicator comes up after the exclamation mark, seams to work better if you have an item that needs servicing

heres the instrucions for it:-I_drive_2.doc

Thanks. I think I'm following the instructions OK, but it goes straight back to the clock as soon as I release the button, and stays on the clock when I press it again.

Would I be able to do that on my car after a oil change? I'm from the US not sure if I would be able to do that here.
