service indicator

My Ride: 530i auto, sat nat, 6cd, advanced air con, bt, beige leather, dark poplar, mystic blue, 128 9j/8j, runflats, adaptive hd lts, xenon+wash

just got service indicator light up. checked i drive says brake fluid

now, car is 18mnths old has just been in for oil service 3 weeks ago milage is 14000 My SA tells me fluid needs changing! What is that all about!!!
Seems excessive to me

anyone had similar experience

yes i have taken the filter box off and checked the level is ok.

probably a system error if the fluid level is ok, but it's also possible that there is a problem with the fluid transport....

Brake fluid needs to be replaced about every 24 months, wether you drive or not

Thanks for input guys- i understand reasons for fluid replacement, hydroscopic, protect ABS pump from corrosion and all that but my beef is if i have to keep running backwards and forwards to my dealer every few weeks cos some new service light has come on - i can see brake pads next- i am going to get pretty

I'm in a similar situation... 'Oil' Service is due now but it looks like other things (e.g. brake fluid/air-con filter/pads) are going to be due in the next 1-3 months... I'm going to ring my dealer this afternoon and see what they're prepared to do together to avoid 'trips'...
