Got this SES light a few days ago without any noticeable difference in driving.
Also getting an O2 sensor malfunction read out.
Is this a fix-immediately issue or something that can wait a couple days to weeks?
Does anyone know how much this would cost?

Just a quick update. My BMW dealership found thermostat, O2 sensor and water body pump issues 
Paid dearly to have them fixed. ouch. First time I paid the repairs out of pocket and now understand why these cars could be a nightmare once the basic warranty runs out. Lesson learned.
I had an extended warranty from Direct Buy and they refused covering it on the ground that the issues were inter-related and since Thermostat was not covered (in fine print) in warranty, any consequential/secondary faults would not be covered either. They hung up on me when I asked them to prove how they reached this determination. I realize now how fraudulent these guys really are and this cut rate extended warranty business is mostly a scam. Stay away from them like a plague.

not sure about the O2 sensor but you could have replaced the thermostat and water pump for around $ 250 (parts) and several hours of your time with the help of Turboawd via email like I did several weeks ago.
Anyway, glad everything is straighten out though. Next time, look in the DIY section of this forum and other forums, then indy shop before bringing it in.

I have been getting SES fault due to thermostat(stuck open). I will be doing this repair soon (and a DIY), already have the part and have changed my nephew's 330i (N52) thermostat.

I had (and still have) a P0597 Code. I replaced the Thermostat, and still have the same code.. anyone got any ideas?
