I've searched the forums and couldn't find anything.
I got a service engine soon light on the dash. What can this be? the oils been changed and its not due yet.
Any one has an idea of what can it be? or how to turn it off?
thanks!

My Ride: 2006 525XI, Jet black on Dakota beige. Premium and winter packages. I consider myself a purist and intend to keep my car absolutely stock and shiny.
2008 328I Convertible, Sapphire black on beige interior. Premium package, NAV, iPod adapter.
Retired: 2002 325I, Titanium silver on black leather. Premium package. Absolutely stock and proud of it.

This could indicate a number of emission related faults. It could be anything from a loose gas cap, to an oxygen sensor, to a bad thermostat, etc. and this is why it's important to go to Autozone, as Krozi sugested, and ask them to read any faults in OBD. I think the only people who can clear the codes are either the dealer or an independent shop AFTER they repair the problem. G/L

Have you checed the i-Drive for messages? there might be a description there. If not, my guess is emmissions related, thermostat, or loose/leaking gas cap.
