I left the gas cap not fully closed and now the service engine soon light came on, is there a way to get it to go off without bringing it to the dealer?

If you properly install the gas cap the code should clear on it's own in a day or so depending on how much you drive.

When I installed my sprint booster I got an error message too and I went to Advance Autoparts and they had an OBD II and they cleared the fault right there for free.

It's a scanner tool that read/deletes engine faults. You can buy one for like $150

i think it's somewhere next to the botton to open the trunk and/or to open the hood.

It's in the manual on page 210. There's a flap to open and then a plug to remove to gain access to the OBD-II plug. Look for "Socket for OBD Onboard
Diagnostics interface" in the manual.

Yeah, there's a little rectangular piece that pops open in that area^^ under the dash. I saw them open it when they ran my emissions test.
