Looking for the service bulletin to relocate the MPM in the trunk. Figured I should move it in case I get any leaks. Found a couple links to the SB but they were dead.

Yea, it is too bad that back door to the SIBs was closed. No machine is perfect and an informed customer is a good thing. I know they probably feel like it creates unnecessary complaints for things that people aren't really experiencing. Frankly, I like to research things and to figure out what's wrong before I bring my car in even if someone else is going to fix it. That are simply too many people that don't debug well or don't do good work.

You need these two pieces:
SI B 61 13 06 electrical problems caused by water ingress.pdf
B611306Attachment.pdf

Thanks. Is there one for relocating the MPM though? The SIB only shows relocating the MULF and PDC modules. I know I could put it anywhere but I would prefer to do it as per BMW instructions.

This is the only one I remember seeing. What's the SIB for the other one?

The one you posted was the one I was referring to. Just wondering if there was any other instructions to relocate the MPM. Its another module in the same location, I just want to fasten it where BMW suggests.

Honestly hadn't noticed that it doesn't mention MPM. I downloaded the SIB a couple years ago and have never gotten around to it. I imagine the same procedure can be done to relocate it. Please post if you do it and where you put the MPM.

I'm going to try to tackle it at work tomorrow. I'll snap some pictures when I'm done.

I asked my service advisor about this a few months ago before my car went out of original factory warranty. He couldn't find anything like these SIBs. Or, maybe because I had not experienced any leakage or water in my trunk, he believed this SIB was not applicable.

Just so I understand this correctly, the dealer will only perform this work if you complain of a leak, or water in the trunk, correct? They will not do this work just because you request it, if there is no complaint or evidence of any water leakage problems?

My car is 2008 528i which is still covered by the CPO warranty until July of 2014.

Thanks for any clarifications about getting this done by the dealer.
