September 2009 BMW Sales (U.S.)
Good news: Bad news. Compared to last September (2008) sales of the E60 are up 18%, however, sales fell from last month by 19%. The new Mercedes Benz E-Class also lost ground from last month (-19%), but still outsold the E60 in September (3,278 to 2,861). All-in-all, sales of the good ol' E60 are holding up well for a model about to be replaced.
This was a weird sales month as it followed the Cash-For-Clunkers boondoggle of August. So which models did well this month compared to last month?
What's Hot
Chevy Corvette (+112% over August sales)
Cadillac SRX (+105% .. this is a new model)
BMW 6 series (+93%)
Audi Q7 (+89%)
BMW 1 series (+65%)
Dodge Challenger (+57%)
BMW X3 (+49%)
Lincoln Navigaor (+46%)
Ford Expedition (+43%)
What's Not
PT Cruiser (-93%)
Jeep Compass -(93%)
Honda Fit (-76%)
Nissan Versa (-74%)
Ford Focus (-64%)
Honda Civic (-63%)
Toyota Yaris (-60%)
Honda CR-V -(52%)

Thank you for this info. I am a little surprised to see that the Honda Civic lost ground; seems like there's one around every corner.

So in the end, CFC didn't achieve anything other than shifting around sales from one month to the next. Yet another example of the negative influence of Central Planning.
you know what's funny. most "HOT" cars are V8 opposed to what's not selling most 4 or 6 cylinders......Al Gore is not happy

I think what happened is that many of the models which sold well in August under the influence of CFC, fell back in September (like the Yaris and the Civic). Likewise, models which were left out of the feeding frenzy in August (Corvette, Expedition, Navigator) picked up steam in September.
