Hi guys,
I am planning to sell my 07' 550i with less than 8k miles on it. It's pretty much fully loaded with nav, sports pkg, cold weather pkg, comfort access, rear shades, etc. Perfect condition no accidents before.
However, I am not sure how much I should be getting for it at the current market. Dealer offered me $37k but I felt that it was an insulting low-ball as the car was stickered at $68k when i bought it 2 years ago. Hopefully some of you can enlighten me with your opinions and what I should try to do.

Kbb or black book....that will give you a good idea of what it is worth.

Dealer is basically going to give you only about what they can pick one up at the auction(black book) or coming off lease. Which is usually less then most people's expectations. Also mileage when your talking the difference between 15K and 8K its almost a moot point in most buyers eyes and might only add about $500 to your cars value.

I would think around 41k to 43.5k would be about as good of deal your going to get from a dealer. Though take it to a few different dealers. One may tell you 38K another 42K. Remember its all part of the game of buying a car.

Try selling it locally. With only 8k and alot of warranty left on it will make it much more easier to sell.

With the current state of the dollar I think you could get more than double that in Europe. It's a pity its so expensive to ship cars across the atlantic, otherwise you might be able to sell it to one of our continental cousins, who, like you, drive on the wrong side of the road

The highest Kelly Bluebook trade-in figure for your vehicle is $40,000 even with such low mileage.

I got the same # on kbb.com for dealer trade: $40,775..hard to believe it has depreciated so much in basically one year! I guess that's why I only "buy" used cars and lease new ones.

Private Party sale figure is $47K, in excellent condition. Suggested Retail = $53,540, so that's what the dealer would ask for it after they pay you a paltry $37K for it.

This will make you sick, but the dealer offered me $36K last month for my 530xi w/ 11K miles that wasn't loaded at all...had stickered for a little over $54K. I ended up swapping my lease instead and saved myself about $9K. It's crazy to think a 550i that's loaded is only worth another $3K to the dealer (in your case, $1K) than my 530xi.

You'd better sell it yourself. Try Craig's list, eBay or on here. Good luck!

I researched your car and i cant seem to find any of them cheaper than 45 - 40k with all the options that you mentioned of course. Keep in mind that private sale and dealer sale have differernt pricing. I would try to sell for 47k o.b.o. and see what kind of response you get.

First and second year hits on cars like ours are killers in the pocket book. I honestly don't think I'd ever buy a new BMW out right (most cars for that matter). Getting into one at about two going on three years old seems to be the best choice money wise. With CPO's now offered by so many company's its even harder to justify buying new when you can buy a one year old or even less in some cases, very few miles on it, longer warranty then buying the new car, and the best part you save cash. Only issues is finding one you like
