I need some help to understand seat options on 550i. I'm looking at 2008 or 2009 model. If I understand it right the top of the line seats looked like those in 7 series (20 way) http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/BMW-5...t_25976wt_1182 and another one (also 20 way?) like in this car: http://www.ecarlist.com/showroom/2795/photos/1945888#23
When I pulled options by VIN # I've noticed that both vehicles list S456A KOMFORTSITZE ELEKTRISCH VERSTELLBAR
What kind of options are there and what is the difference?

the black one doesn't have the ventilated seats while the white car does... they both have the dakota leather seats with the 16 way adjustable seats which is standard on with the sport package as far as i know. the heated/cooled seats is an added option on the car and rare from what i've seen

from what little i know the first car that has the "pillow" between the headrest and seat back is an upgrade to the sport seating that doesn't have that little pillow. Now i'm new to BMW's but i think i'm correct

Option 456 is described as Comfort Seats, Electric, Adjustable.
The black 08 is identical to mine. The thigh support slides out and the back of the seat is articulated in two places, complete with lumbar and adjustable side bolsters. Comfort seats are 20 way.

I've never seen the NASCA leather without the ventilated seats option but if you find a car with this its definitely a plus.

The black car has the older style comfort seats before the running production design change where the headrest had a one-piece, integrated pillow. I think that change happened in late 08. I have the old style seats in my 08 and I kinda like the separate pillows. I looked at the white car before I purchased mine and it seems that it has a branded title. I think it is a buyback vehicle and its been in his inventory for a while. Otherwise, that was my perfect car, but asking price was too high considering the negatives.
